Serre Chevalier Area Facts

Set in the Southern Alps, Serre Chevalier is one of France 's most underrated ski resorts, with a fantastic snow record and superb runs. The resort is divided into 4 sprawling villages linked by ski runs, an efficient lift system and a regular bus service.

The resort takes its name from a summit and covers a full valley and four base camps: Briançon (Serre Chevalier 1200m), Chantemerle (Serre Chevalier 1350m), Villeneuve-La-Salle (Serre Chevalier 1400m) and Le Monêtier-Les Bains (Serre Chevalier 1500m).

The four base camps, offer as many opportunities as possible for taking off immediately and directly for the summits of the slopes, by cable car or chair lift. There, from the summits of Prorel (2566m), Serre Chevalier (2491m), Eychauda (2659m), Cucumelle (2698m) or Pic de l'Yret (2830m), you have a panoramic view over 250km of inter linked pistes, on a single enormous slope.

Home to world downhill champion Luc Alphand, Serre Chevalier boasts a huge ski area with superb views across the Ecrins National Park and fantastic skiing and snowboarding for all abilities.

Our accommodation is located in Chantemerle and Villeneuve, chosen for their easy access to the skiing and great range of shops, bars and restaurants. If you are looking for extensive high altitude skiing, plenty of sunshine, spectacular mountain scenery and value for money, then Serre Chevalier is for you.
